Roy Raymond Barnes was the son James Taylor and Malinda Alice Agnew Barnes. He was the youngest of 12 children and last survivor of this pioneer family. His grandparents, Jehu and Elizabeth Barnes, came to Wright County in 1866 and settled on a farm in the Fairview community. Roy was a veteran of World War 1 US Army. He married Frona Long in March 16, 1919. Roy worked in Iowa after their marriage.To this union 4 children were born. Roy and Frona bought the Barnes home place which was in the Barnes name 119 years.
