Doris W. Deamer, Oct. 25, 1912 - Jan. 14, 1999, Doris Winona DEAMER, 86, Life Care Center, Rochester, formerly of Mt. Zion near Rochester, died 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the center.

Born near Talma to Leroy and Ethel MEREDITH ADAMSON, she married George DEAMER Jr. on June 6, 1936 in her parents home near Talma. He died July 23, 1979. Mrs. Deamer was a lifetime resident of the Fulton County area and was raised on the family farm near Talma and Mentone. She was a graduate of Talma High School. The winner of a Latin contest, she received a scholarship enabling her to attend Indiana University from 1930-1932. She received her degree and teaching certificate in Education and taught first grade in Delong and Mentone schools. She also attended Manchester College. After the death of her father-in-law, George W. DEAMER in 1940 she became actively involved in the Dearner & Deamer business in Rochester. For all their working lives, she and her husband operated the Deamer & Deamer business from various locations in downtown Rochester. She managed the abstracting office until 1979. After the death of her husband she continued to participate in the operations of the family business until she retired in 1994. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Mentone and Rochester.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Glen and wife Eleny K. DEAMER, South Bend, and Phillip T. and wife Jennifer DEAMER, Louisville, Ky.; one grandson, Eric Klimeck DEAMER, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Virginia and husband Glen LAW, Rochester; one niece, Janet and husband Michael WEBER, Rochester,, one nephew, Gail D. and wife Cynthia LAW, Mentone. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services are 2 p.m. today at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester. Rev. Jim DILLINGER will officiate. Burial will be in Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. through the hour of services today. Memorials may be made to the Northern Indiana Alzheimers Association, South Bend, or the Rochester Church of Christ.
