A native of Dickson, Mr. Alberd was the son of the late Raymond and Ruth Elizabeth Walton Alberd. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Robert held memberships in VFW Post 4641 where he was a past commander, Disabled American Veterans, and Lucien Berry Post No. 115 of the American Legion. He worked as a well driller for Norman Well Drilling.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Donald Alberd Jr. of Bon Aqua, TN and Scottie Raymond Alberd of Columbia, Tenn.; four sisters, Dottie Bennett, Nancy Smalley, Patsy Parker and Carolyn Hooper, all of Dickson; three grandchildren, Brandon Alberd and Hunter Albert of Bon Aqua and Hannah Alberd of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Charles Alberd.
