He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Russell Bugg.
He is survived by his father, Waverly Sr. and his wife, Frances; his sister, Barbara Gaskill; one nephew, three nieces and many cousins.
A self-employed heavy equipment mechanic, which was the work he loved, he was fondly called "Leroy" by his many friends and associates.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m.
Interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the organization of your choice.
