Jimmy Wayne Smith better known as "Big Jim" passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at his residence. He was born of the late Vestor & Marjorie Smith.
Jimmy is survived by his wife- Barbara (Gabbard) Smith of 43 years; by three sons- Buddy Wayne Smith & wife Tonya of McKee, James Smith & wife Deb of McKee and Earl Jay Smith & girlfriend Tracy Taulbee of McKee and by three daughters- Dorothy "Sissy" Hutherson & husband Bob of Tyner, Janet Smith & husband Jamie of Tyner and Anna Pharris & husband Rodney. He is also survived by a brother- Vestor Smith Jr. & wife Janet of Carlisle, Ohio and by a sister- Rita Lynch of McKee. Jimmy was blessed with twenty-four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was a retired school bus driver through the Jackson County Board of Education.
Funeral service was held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Gabbard and Bro. Vernon Truett officiating. Burial followed in Pilgrams Rest Cemetery.Pallbearers were Buddy, James, Earl & Jamie Smith, Bob Hutherson, Jim Cody, Barry Bingham and Robert Gabbard.
