Thomas Esten Harris age 71 of W. Jefferson Street, died Tuesday May 5, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital.


Tom was retired from Parker Seal Company and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.


He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mabel Fike Jarvis.


He is survived by his wife Anna Belle Bowles Harris, two sons Robert (Lisa) Esten Harris of Richmond and Todd (Leigh Ann Parker) Harris of Berea, 5 grandchildren Christopher Esten Harris, Brittany Nicole Harris, Anna Elizabeth Parker-Harris, John Esten Parker-Harris and Shane Webb, one great grandchild Hayley Faith Richards. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive Tom.


Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday May 8, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Marvin Lewis, Marvin Lee Lewis, Shane Webb, John Hellard, Charles Bowles and Chris Harris. Honorary bearers will be Bobby Himes, Nelson Roberts, Acy Johnson, Pepper Tyree, Donnie Miller and Phil Collins.


The family would like to thank Bethel Baptist Church for their prayers and thoughtfulness and the doctors, nurses and staff of the St. Joseph ICU unit for the great attention you gave them and Tom during this time.


He will greatly miss all his friends at Speedway!
