Mr. Charles Ronald "Ron" Leonard, age 81, of Cana, VA passed away on Saturday afternoon March 11, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital. Ron was born in Guilford County to the late Edd Harmon Leonard and Lannie Mozelle Combs Leonard. Mr. Leonard proudly served our country in the US Army. He was the owner/operator of Leonard Signs for many years. He was also an avid genealogist and wrote numerous articles and books on various families in and around Carroll County, Virginia. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Carol Burnett Leonard; daughters and sons-in-law, Deidree and Randy Speas, Leticia and Jason King, Veronica and Corey Williams, and Tammy and Marty Crowder; 6 grandchildren, Cidney Speas, Hannah Speas, Bayleigh and Billy Jones, Landen Williams, Isaac Williams, and Jessica and James Pruitt; 3 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Rita Kay and Wayne Boyd; brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernie Dallas Leonard, and Larry Steve and Sue Leonard; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Leonard family.
