Before WW1 Uncle Arbe as my dad called him left his job as a breakman for the RR in Kentucky and came out the Eastern Washington State to work for my grandparents on their wheat farm. The only record of his middle name of Berges was found on his WW1 draft card and is supported by my grandmother naming her oldest son Berges. He was named after his Uncle Reden Browning that also went by "Red Browning". The surname Burges can be found near her grandparent's in Kentucky but I have not yet placed the person he was named after.
R.B. was known in the Army as "Red Browning" and helped raise my father and uncles. He died in a VA hospital of TB in Walla Walla WA in 1940.
