Mr. Bowersox was with the former Leiters Ford State Bank at Leiters Ford for 18 years, seven of those years as president, before retiring in 1962. He also had been chairman of the former Fulton County School Reorganization Committee, a former president of the Fulton County Crippled Children's Society, and was one of three persons who started the Aubbeenaubbee Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of the 1926 Leiters Ford High School basketball team that won the first Fulton County basketball tournament. Leiters Ford later consolidated with Delong to form the Aubbeenaubbee Township School Corporation which now is part of the Culver School Corporation.
Mr. Bowersox was born in Leiters Ford Nov. 14, 1909 to Roy and Goldie BOWERSOX. He was a cost accountant at Bendix Products in South Bend for 17 years before returning to his hometown. In Florida, he was a member of the Palm Harbor United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frances [BOWERSOX], whom he married Aug. 22, 1931; two sons, John [BOWERSOX], Leiters Ford, and Thomas [BOWERSOX], South Bend; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Leiters Ford United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the church.
