Mrs. William Aach Dies After
Short Illness— Her Two Sons
Are In France.


Galena, Kan., Dec. 20.—Mrs. Rezina (sic) Aach, 50 years old, wife of Willlam Aach, proprietor of the William Aach dry goods store, at Third and Main streets and a prominent business man of this city, died at her home, No. 514 Galena avenue at 5:30 o'clock this afternoon. Death resulted from a brief illness due to pneumonia. Mrs Aach was taken ill last Sunday with influenza, which developed into pneumonia a few days afterward.

Mrs Asch was widely and highly respected. With her husband and family she resided in this city for the last twenty-eight years. She had been an active member of the local Red Cross chapter and had been at the head of a number of active committees. She also was an active member of the central relief board.

She leaves her husband and two sons, Gerome and Arthur Aach, both of whom are with the American expeditionary forces in France.

Funeral services will be held at the grave in Mount Hope cemetery Sunday afternoon.

FIVE FUNERALS TO BE
HELD IN GALENA TODAY


GALENA, KAN., Dec. 21. —Sunday will be a day of mourning in Galena, many families being directly affected by the death of a relative, and nearly all citizens will pay their last respects to one or more departed friends. Five funerals will be held during the day, three of well-known citizens and two of persons less widely known.

The funeral of Mrs. Rezina (sic) Aach, wife of William Aach, the well-known merchant, will be held in the afternoon. The funeral cortege will depart from the family residence, 514 Galena avenue, at 2:00 o'clock and proceed to Mount Hope cemetery, where services will be held, Rev. A. P. Cameron officiating. The body will lie in state at the home from 9 o'clock in the morning until 1:30 o'clock. The pallbearers will be N. Rosenberg and Cadi Klein of Joplin, M. N. Alexander, E. E. Julian, David Baum and Leo Price of Galena. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Boice and Son. Mrs. Aach died at 5:30 Friday evening after a short illness of pneumonia. She was one of the most prominent women of Galena, being at all times active in all charity work and in promoting enterprises for the public good. She was 50 years old and had been a resident of Galena for thirty years.

Aach Funeral Yesterday.

GALENA, KAN., Dec. 23.— Funeral services for Mrs. William Aach, who died at 6:30 o'clock Friday afternoon after a short illness of pneumonia, were held at the family residence yesterday afternoon and were largely attended by people from Joplin and neighboring towns. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery. Mrs. Aach was known for her charities and her patriotic activities. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Jerome (sic) and Arthur, both of whom are in the service in France.
