George's father Jacob Donner and mother Elizabeth Blue-Donner and several siblings died during the winter of 1846 and 47. George was only Donner male to survive. He later married Margaret Watson in Santa Clara County in 1862. Their daughter Cora Jane Donner was Alvin's mother.
