Georgia Novella "Ody" Nichols, 61, 682 Crestwood Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1947 in Johnson County to the late Vonnie and Pearl Hicks Tester. She lived in Illinois for several years before moving back to Mountain City. She liked singing and going out to eat. She was a Member of Heavenly Light Baptist Church and loved her church. She will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Tester and brother, Orville Tester.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Hobart Nichols; three sisters, Ella Davis and husband Robert, Glasgow, Kentucky, Alice Coffey and husband Lincoln, Camargo, Kentucky and Lou Ella Roberts and husband Jerry, Mountain City; three brothers, Charles Tester and wife Sherry, Fairmount, Illinois, David Tester and wife Chere, Sidel, Illinois and Richard Tester and wife Darlene, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; several great- nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28th at Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Steele and Rev. Bob Stout officiating.
Music was provided by Joyce McCoy and Caleb Cord.
Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Cross, Jason Stout, Terry Stout, Bob Stout, John Stout and Frank Stout.
