Roger Lee Stacy, 59 years of age, of Richlands, VA, formerly of Jolo, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at his brother, Terry Stacy's, residence on Three Forks, Jolo, WV. Born May 5, 1943 in McDowell County, the son of the late Lee Otis Stacy and Bertha Rife Stacy. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Perry Stacy and Dennis Stacy. He is survived by one son: Kelly Stacy of Bluefield, VA; four sisters, Dorothy Trayler of Limestone, TN; Sylvia Gaye Rodgers of Jefferson, OH; Josephine Taylor of Hillsville, NC; Lorene Stacy Shepherd of Troutdale, VA; eight brothers: Sidney Otis Stacy, Howard Weddle Stacy, Terry Stacy, Coy Stacy, all of Jolo, WV; Curtis Stacy of Archdale, NC; Darrell Stacy of War, WV; Denny Stacy of Trinton, NC; and Woodrow Stacy of Troutman, NC; special friends: Marieta Taylor, Cindy Whited, Barbara Davis, Wanda Griffith, Russell Griffith, Harold Kennedy and James Salyers. Funeral services for Roger Lee Stacy will be held Saturday, August 3, 2002 at 1:00 pm. at the Community Church of the Living God on Three Forks, Jolo, WV with Reverends: Freddie Dobbs, Phil Akers, and James Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery on Stateline Ridge #1, Paynesville, WV. Active pallbearers will be nephews. THe body will be taken to the church Friday at 1:00 p.m. where friends may call, with evening services at 7:00 p.m. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Sandy River American Legion Post #175 of Iaeger, WV. The family of Roger Lee Stacy is being served by Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home of Grundy, VA.
