Dallas E. Ball, 73, of Anderson, passed away June 29, 2009, at Saint John's Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Henry County and graduated in 1953 from Middletown High School. He lived in Anderson most of his life and was an avid golfer.

He retired from Lucent Technologies and owned and operated Ball Communications for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene A. Ball of Anderson; daughter, Sandra (husband, Danny) Metzing of Anderson; son, Terry Ball of Anderson; five grandchildren, Greg Metzing, Jamie (husband, Brian) White, Summer (husband, Matthew) Lintner, Shaun Ball and Jenalee Ball; five great- grandchildren, Quinten, Taylor, Evan and Cameron Lintner and Audrey Ball; and brother, Myron (wife, Diane) Ball of Fortville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Fern Ball; and sister, Jackie Jones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.
