Dorothy V. Williamson Allen, 86, of New Matamoras, Ohio died Dec 9, 2008 at home. She was born Aug 27, 1922 in Sistersville, a daughter of the late Lando and Catherine M. Doran Williamson. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the New Matamoras Nazarene Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn F. Allen in 2004; a son, Donald P. Allen in 2004, and brothers Melvin Williamson and Bill Williamson. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Dawn Allen of Bridgeport, Ohio; a grandson, Donald P. Allen Jr.; a granddaughter, Terry Lynn Allen; a great-grandson, Lawrence Preston Allen; a sister, Madyline Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends called on the family at Myers Funeral Home in Sistersville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Services were held at New Matamoras Nazarene Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Hyde and the Rev. Charlie Flyoyd officiating. Burial in New Matamoras Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Matamoras Nazarene Church of the Nazarene.
Dorothy was a true Servant of the LORD. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Nazarene church.
