He was age 76 and a resident of Rio, who died on a Friday, at home after a short illness. He was the son of Raymond S. and Caren (Nelson) Hazard. He married the former Erna Finck on September 12, 1940 in Madison. Howard owned and operated Hazard Orchards in Poynette until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Erna of Rio; three children; seven grandchildren; two sisters; four brothers; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Byron. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 1995 with Rev. Andrew Eytzen officiating.
