Barbara Bechtold, 87, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Annie Nolt Girvin. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Bechtold who died in 1997.
Surviving are: a son, Paul G. Bechtold husband of Kay; a daughter, Marianne wife of Guy S. Burkholder II; 3 grandchildren, Audrey wife of Nathan Scott, Guy S. Burkholder III, husband of Emily Friesen Burkholder, John-David Burkholder; 3 great-grandchildren, Rosalyn Scott, Anna Friesen Burkholder, Elena Friesen Burkholder. She was preceded in death by: a son John David Bechtold; a grandson, Andrew Bechtold; a brother, John Girvin; a sister, Leah Rohrer.
A memorial service will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 2 PM with interment following in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 to 2 PM on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
