Charles Daniel "Dan" Humkey passed away on August 14, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 7, 1954 in Lebanon, to Joseph Raymond Sr. and Jean Humkey.
He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1972. He was a graduate of Ball State University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections. He was a retired police officer for the Louisville-Metro Police Department, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #614 and St. Gregory Parish.
Survivors include his mother Jean Humkey of Bardstown, KY; six brothers, Joe Humkey of Indianapolis, Larry Humkey of Elkhart, Don Humkey of Franklin Tennessee, , Tommy and Pat Humkey both of Bardstown, KY, and Bobby Humkey of Brunswick, GA; eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Raymond Humkey, Sr.
A Mass of Christian burial was held August 18 at St. Gregory CHurch with Rev. John Schwartzlose officating. Burial was in St. Gregory Cemetery, Bardstown, Kentucky. Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home, Bardstown was in charge of arrangements.
