FAMILY/RESEARCH NOTES:
1. OBIT from Betty Lang Walker, 3-24-14: Conroe Courier--January 5, 1939: WILLIAM C. TURNER PASSES AWAY AT HOME OF SON.
"William C. Turner passed away Tuesday, January 3, at the home of his son near Conroe. He was almost eighty years old and had lived in Montgomery County forty years. For the past three years he had lived with his son, W. E. Turner
Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Ola Long of Pelly, Texas; four sons, J. S. of Huntsville, Lou of Montgomery, W. E. of Conroe and W. M. Turner of Poteau, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A short service was held at the Wahrenberger Funeral Chapel before going to Union Grove, where he was buried in the Pool cemetery at 2:00 o'clock, Wednesday.
The Rev Thomas A. Gray conducted the services."
(Notes: William Cecil Turner was my great grandfather. He was born 1859 in Trinity County, Texas. His death certificate gives his parents names as Samuel Turner and Emily Midkiff Turner. In 1881 he married Emily Jane Hemphill, who preceded him in death in 1935.)

3. FAMILY: Married Emily Jane Hemphill in Angelina County, Texas on 14 February 1881. Known children of William & Emily: Laura, Luther Isaac, Wesley Moses, Viola, & Rosa.
