ABATE, FRANK, 82, of Evergreen Street, Pawtucket died Tuesday February 20, 2007 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Providence. Mr. Abate was the husband of Louise (Benoit) Abate. They were married 48 years.
He was born in Bristol, RI the son of the late Andrew and Maria (Ferrara) Abate.
Mr. Abate was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star while serving in the Philippines and Japan.
Besides his wife he leaves four sisters, Anna Dallaire of Bristol, Grace Proulx of Fall River, Frances Coury and Rose Andreozzi of Barrington, and one brother, Salvatore Abate of Long Island, New York. He was the brother of the late Fortunata and Charles Abate.
His funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans of RI, 83 Park Street, Providence, RI 02903 in Mr. Abate's memory
