Lawrence M. "Larry" Hickey, 65, of Pritchard Avenue, Corning, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Homestead Nursing Home.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked for the Avoca National Bank, the Campbell-Savona School District, Pathways of Corning, and Corning Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Dann Hickey; a daughter, Tina Hickey of Corning; a son, Steven Hickey of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his mother and stepfather Ann and George Jamison of Corning.

Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22 at St. Vicnent de Paul Church, Corning.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.

Arrangements are with the Haughey Funeral Home.

Lawrence M. "Larry" Hickey Jr. 65 years formerly of 106 Pritchard Avenue, Corning, NY died Thursday June 18, 2009 at the Homestead Nursing Home.

He was born April 25, 1944 in Corning, NY the son of Lawrence M. and Ann K. Hickey. His father Lawrence predeceased him.

A lifetime resident of Corning, a graduate of Corning Free Academy, Williamsport College and a Veteran of the United States Navy.

Larry and Sharon Dann were married April 27, 1968 in St. Patrick's Church, Corning, NY.

He was employed as a Loan Officer at the Avoca National Bank, also working with the Campbell/Savona School District, Corning Glass Works, Pathways of Corning and served as City Clerk for Corning.

He was a member of All Saints Parish, attending St. Vincent de Paul Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister and Lay Lector, a member of the Corning Council #281 Third Degree Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus – Father Guilfoil Assembly #732. He was a member of the Corning Rotary Club and a volunteer for Corning Hospital and Founders Pavilion.

Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and was active in Indian Guides with his children. He was an animal lover and avid fisherman and fly tier. As a sportsman he was involved with Basketball and Bowling. At home he enjoyed gardening and cooking. His gentleness and faith commitment will be missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving his wife of 41 years, Sharon. Daughter, Tina Hickey of Corning, NY and Son, Steven (Jennifer) Hickey of Jacksonville, Fl. Grandchildren, Keanna and Aliyah Rawlings, Dominic and Ariana Hickey. Mother and Stepfather, Ann and George Jamison of Corning, NY. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home 216 E. First St., Corning, NY Sunday June 21, 2009 from 4-7pm. A Prayer Service will be offered at the funeral home Monday June 22, 2009 at 9:30am followed by Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am. St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning, NY. Committal Prayers, full Military Rites and Interment will be held at the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY.

The family would appreciate Memorial Donations be given in Larry's name to: Pathways Inc., 33 Denison Parkway, Corning, NY 14830. or All Saints Parish 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830.
