Arnold L. Abel, age 83, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI, passed away October 15th, 2006. He was born in Appleton, WI on February 14, 1923, the son of George and Augusta (Dumke) Abel.
Arnold was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force where he flew the P-38 [and P-47] on many missions.
Arnold married Pearl Bessett on February 12, 1944 in Appleton.
He was survived by
Wife: Pearl Abel, King, Wisconsin;
Sons: Arnold F. (Debra) Abel, Waupaca, WI; Andrew Abel, Eagle River, WI; Alex (Bernice) Abel, Reedfield, WI;
Grandchildren: Christopher (Becky) Abel; Jennifer (John) Weber; Luke Abel; Kelley Abel; Matthew Abel; Caroline Abel; Kyle Abel; Carmon Abel;
Great Grandchildren: Hunter Abel, Riley Abel, Alisha Abel, and Ellie Weber;
Step Grandchildren: Austin and Brianna.
Sister: Elsie Oldham.
He was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Abel and Marvin Abel.
Funeral at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Ainsworth Hall Chapel in King, WI. Military honors followed the service.
