Frank J. Abbrederis Sr., 85, of Plover, Wisconsin, died 19 Feb 2007, at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Weyauwega.
He was born April 6, 1921, in Monroe to the late John Abbrederis and Nora (Redman) Abbrederis.
Frank entered the service on 22 May 1944, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Central Europe. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, two overseas service bars, the Good Conduct Medal and the War World II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1946 at Camp Grant, Ill.
Frank was married to Dolores Groszkiewicz on 29 Nov 1941, in Milwaukee. They were married for more than 65 years. She survives him.
He worked for Wisconsin Motors, now Teledyne Industries, for 33 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the American Legion Rib Lake Post 274, Iditarod and U.A.W. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, dog sledding in Price County and horseshoe pitching.
Survivors included his wife, Dolores Abbrederis of Plover; two sons, James (Patricia) Abbrederis of Stevens Point and Frank (Sandra) Abbrederis Jr. of Merrill; one daughter, Linda (Roy) Rhode of Grand Ronde, Ore.; grandchildren, Carol (Guillermo), Matthew (Fernanda), Michael (Jessamin), Jason (Teara), Travis in the U.S. Air Force, Amanda (Chris), Lance (Denise) and Derek; great-grandchildren, Allison, Brandy, Kennedy and Regan; sisters, Frances Wieselman, Mary Weinhoff and Alice Kiss; and brother, Robert (Marcia). He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Abbrederis and John Abbrederis.
Funeral services at the Wisconsin Veterans Home Chapel in King. Burial in the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
The gates of heaven opened wide. Angels lined up side by side. A special guest (with his fishing pole) was on his way. The day the Lord God led you away.
