Mother Dies
The GAZETTE announce last week that Major J T Hunt hadbeen called to Alexandria City, AL., by telegram annoucing the serious illness of his mother, Mrs. L M Whatley, who was there on a visit from Texas. Mrs Whatley died on Sunday, Dec 27th 1896 several hours before the arrival of Major Hunt. She lived in Barnesville, GA. and may be remembered by some of the older citizens.
The Jan. 29th, 1940, edition og the MACON TELEGRAPH announced
Married on the 21st by James Gray, Esq. Mr. Alexander J. Hunt to Miss Lucinda M. Beasley, daughter of John J. Beasley, Esq. all of Jones County.
Lucinda Mary Beasley married 2nd., to William Harper Whatley on December 11, 1855 in Jones County, Georgia.
