Funeral Services for Calvin Parker, Sr., 79, were conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 4, 1987 in the Live Oak Baptist Church in Jacksboro with Rev. Woody Singleton, pastor, officiating. Burial, under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home was in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Born Feb 29, 1908 in Chico, Parker was a retired riveter. He had lived in Jack County for the past 15 years. He died Wednesday, September 2, 1987 in the Jacksboro Nursing Home.
Survivors include three sons: Calvin Jr. of Jacksboro, David of Harlingen, and Ross of Springtown, Texas; one daughter Dorothy Maxine Kauffman of Fort Worth; a brother Faust, of Fort Worth; and ten grandchilren; Una Smith, Rhonda Humphries, Johnnie Kauffman, Jenny Kauffman, Kerry, Nikki and Eli Parker, Trae, Levi and Pervis Parker; and three step-grandchildren; Lara Nichols, Mylinda Smith and Martha Kimberlin.
He was preceded in death by one son, Leon Parker; a brother, Jay Parker, and a sister, Maxine DeFranco
