Roscoe Lee Welch was born September 15, 1938 in Jackson County and departed this life Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, being 70 years of age. He was the son of the late Jim & Grace (Baker) Welch.
Roscoe is survived by three children- Doug Welch & wife Lisa of Brandon, Mississippi, Robin Hughes & husband Alfred of Richmond, KY and Stephanie Malicote & husband Eric also of Richmond, KY. He is also survived by his brother Charles "Roach" Welch & wife Wendy of McKee, KY. Roscoe was blessed with six grandchildren that he loved dearly- Katie & David Welch of Brandon, Mississippi, Emily, Alexandra & Ben Hughes and Ella Malicote all of Richmond, KY.
In addition to his parents, Roscoe was also preceded in death by his wife June Welch who passed away in February, 2006.
Roscoe was retired from Jackson Energy and was a member of the McKee Reformed Church.
Funeral service was held 3:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Hays officiating. Burial followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
