Sellersburg Officer Dies of Wounds
A 27 year old Sellersburg Army Officer died from wounds received in combat in Vietnam last month.
Warrant Officer Thomas B. Barnett died in a hospital in South Vietnam on Sept 25, eigt days afte being wounded in action.
A 1961 graduate of Sivler Creek High School, Barnett was a member of Silver Creek Jaycees and was employed by the Colgate-Palmovie Company prior to entering service.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Riley Barnett; a daughter, Kelly Barnett; two sisters, Mrs Sharon Costin and Mrs. Thomas Mallory, all of Sellersburg. and grandmothers, Mrs. Stella Head, Pineville, KY., and Mrs Rossie Barnett, Middleboro. KY.
The body will be sent to the Haas Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with the date of arrival undetermined.
