Wife of Vernon Harrison, Sr.

"Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life." Proverbs 31: 10-11.

Cecil Mae was born on April 14, 1936 in Little River County, Arkansas to Thomas Cressell and Mattie Bradshaw. She was raised in Ashdown, Arkansas where she went to school and received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Greater Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church.

In 1966, Cecil Mae relocated to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she met and married Vernon Harrison, Sr. one year later. Through this marriage, Cecil Mae inherited five step children. Then unto the union, three children were born.

Cecil Mae was a selfless woman with a generous spirit. Her hospitality was immeasurable. As the eternal mother, she cared for several loved ones and friends through out the years. It was this gift that led her to work in the field of long-term care and home healthcare. She was a living example of what it means to give fully and freely, to "be" Christ on Earth.

Cecil Mae is preceded in death by her parents, her aunts, Mary and Sessie Bradshaw by whom she was raised. Her brothers, Percy Ragland, Sr. and L.C. Cressell. Her sisters, Maudie Mae Burton and Nelie Vonne Jackson. Cecil Mae leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Vernon Harrison, Sr. Her children, Brenda K. Williams, Vernon Harrison, Jr., Debra Spears, La Vern Harrison and Vernado Harrison all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kim McCray (Gervis) of Detroit, Michigan, Vernita Jackson (Elmo) of Fort Worth, Texas, La Shawn Harrison of Pflugerville, Texas, a number of brothers and sisters as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cecil Mae Bradshaw-Harrison left a legacy of a true virtuous woman for all to follow. She will be greatly missed.
