The Le Sueur Family has been well established in Normandy, France for over seven centuries, and are well known in the cities of Paris, Dieppe, Caen, and Rouen, and for four centuries were among the largest manufacturers of cloth in the latter city. Dillard's family name took the form of Lesseur.

The Twelfth Census of the United States, 1900 Census for the State of Georgia, Oglethorpe County, Crawford District enumerated on 20 June, 1890. Page B, Supervisor District 8, Enumeration District 98, Sheet No. 9, House Number 179, Family Number 179, line 91 enumerates F. Dillard Leseueur birth month June, Birth year 1846.

The census taker documented age of 53, and number of years married 34.

Further research in Lesseur's pension records show his day of birth the second of June.
