He was born Sept. 16, 1885, in Elgin, Kan. He married Edythe Klingaman Latta in March 1920, in Thedford, Neb. Mr. Cardin owned and operated a Buick car agency and some cattle operations in Thedford. He came to Boise in 1927 and worked for Bryant Motor Co. and for Gowan Field Air Base during WWII. He operated his own used car business for several years and later worked for Sunset Motors as a salesman. He retired about two years ago. Mrs. Cardin died Oct. 13, 1969.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. M. (Ella Marie) Fenwick, Boise; a stepson, Nile J. (Jack) Latta, McCall; two grandchildren, Nile G. Latta, Boise, and Jacqueline Mayo, Nez Perce; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James W., in 1943, and by 14 brothers and sisters.
