DUNBAR, Pa. - Sena Marie Boyd, 71, of Dunbar, passed away, Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born October 10, 1937, in Chester, W.Va., daughter of the late Harold Seevers and Myrtle Star Seevers Thompson.
Boyd was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostle and Prophet Ministry, in Juniata, where she taught Christian education. She was also an assistant teacher in the public school system.
She liked cooking and baking for her family and shopping with her daughters.
Boyd is survived by her husband, Pastor Ronald Eugene Boyd; four sons, Terrence Lee Boyd and family of Dunbar, Michael Ray Boyd and family of Masontown, Daniel Clyde Boyd and wife, Tina and family of Dunbar, and Ronald Eugene Boyd III and wife, Pat, and family of East Palestine, Ohio; three daughters, Sheryl Ann Upton and husband, Robert, and family of Wanatah, Ind., Cynthia Marie Upton and husband, Marvin, and family of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jami Lynn Longanecker and husband, Steven, and family of Dunbar; 30 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jones of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and stepfather, Earl Richard Thompson at Calcutta Nursing Home.
She is predeceased by four grandsons; a great-grandson, and a great-great granddaughter.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009 and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009 in the Vito C. Martucci Funeral Home, 123 South First Street, West Side Connellsville. Additional viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostle and Prophet Ministry, in Juniata, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Calvin Redman officiating. Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
