Capt Henry D Dickerson Company from Prince Edward County was known as Dickerson's Company, "Old Dominion Rifleman". It later became Company "D" of Major E B Montague's Battalion Virginia Infantry. This company became Company "D" of the 32nd Regimental Virginia Infantry and then was Company "C" of the 53rd Virginia Infantry. Henry D Dickerson re-enlisted in Company "K" of the 18th Virginia Infantry commanded by Col. Henry A Carrington. The men of Company "K" of the 18th came from Charlotte County, Virginia.
