Billy Wayne Adams, 73, died May 21, 2009 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Toms Creek, Va., one of ten children of the late Earnest and Flonnie Helton Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from the Engineering Department of Maryview Hospital and was the former owner of Adams Brothers Construction Company. He was a member of B & B Hunt Club and a member and deacon of South Quay Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Anne Thatch Adams; three daughters, Peggy A. Byrum (Alton), Kathy J. Watkins (Barry), and Janet L. Totty (Greg); one son, Steve W. Adams (Phyllis); one sister, Phyllis Jones; three brothers, Ralph, Gerald, and Ronnie Adams; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. John Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
