Death Takes Aged Necomerstown Man

William E. Tipton, 72, a resident of Newcomerstown for the past 40 years, died of complications at his home on North College Street in that village at 1:15 pm following a weeks illness.
He was born December 20, 1863 at Cambridge, Ohio the son of Samuel and Rebecca Tipton. He had spent most of his early life at Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Tipton was a member of the Newcomerstown M.E. Church.
Surviving are his wife Chloe, two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Crater of Cleveland and Mrs. Mildred Tidrick of the home; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother George Tipton of Barnesville, Ohio and three sisters, Mrs. Harry Donovan of Coshocton, Mrs. Glenn Brooks and Mrs. Mary Whitten both of Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Tuesday at the home, in charge of Rev. D.A. Morris, the M.E. pastor. His burial will be in the Newcomerstown Cemetery. NOTE: The cemetery book lists William as being buried in West Lawn Cemetery instead of East Street as noted above in his obit.
