Robert Leon Bush married Iva Mae Motley on May 31, 1929 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas. They had two children, Robbie Raye Bush (b. 1930 - living) and Thomas Eugene Bush (Feb. 25, 1933 - Jan. 6, 1993 KY). Robert abandoned his family in 1936. Robert Leon Bush was the son of Eppsey Edward Bush and Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Oklahoma.

At the time of his death, Robert Leon Bush was married to Melissa Gatlin Bush.
