Duggins, Rachel Foster
I remember my great-grandmother. Her maiden name was Rachel Foster and she was born in Davis, County, Kentucky July 26, 1832. she married Elijah (Duggins) and they had seventeen children, fourteen of whom lived to be grown. They moved from Davis County, Kentucky to Oklahoma where one of their sons was a Church of Christ minister and he preached all over the state of Oklahoma.
Great-grandfather fought in the Civil War and great-grandmother was shot in the leg defending her home. When great-grandfather died, great-grandmother moved to the Macomb Community in Grayson County, Texas with one of her sons, Daniel B. Duggins, who was my grandfather. She lived there until her death in 1924 at the age of 92.
