DEATH CLAIMS WELL-KNOWN WOMAN Mrs Sophia M Juengel Died on Day of Aged Sister's Funeral Mrs Sophia M Juengel, wife of Rev Henry Juengel, for years pastor of the Zion's Lutheran church, one of the most prominent Lutherans of this city, died yesterday noon at the family residence, 1513 East Lewis street at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 11 days. Death was due to pneumonia and followed a comparatively short illness. A sister of Mrs Juengel, Miss Meta Fruechtenicht, was buried yesterday afternoon in Adams county. They were the members of one of the oldest families of this county. Mrs Juengel like her sister was born in Germany. When the children were quite young the family moved to this county and has resided here ever since. Years ago the deceased was married to Rev Juengel and she had made her home in Fort Wayne ever since. Their union was blessed by a large family of whom the father, four daughters and four sons survive. There are also forty-six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother. Some time ago, Rev Juengel retired from active service as a pastor but he and the deceased continued active in Lutheran church circles. Both were made honorary member of the Concordia Lutheran church a short time ago. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence and at 2 o'clock at the Zion's Lutheran church. Fort Wayne Journal Gazette - November 14, 1910
