Alveston E. Weaver, former President of Wayland village and President of the Wayland State Bank, died Monday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids after an illness of six months. He was 82.

The retired hardware merchant had been a resident of Wayland 38 years. For the past 30 years he had been a director of the State Bank.

Mr. Weaver was a member of the School Board and a member of the Wayland Church of Christ. He was a Past Master of James Fenton Lodge, No. 224, and a Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lyle Warner of Rockford and Mrs. Roy E. Weaver of Grand Rapids; two sons, Warren of Rockford and Harold F. of Wayland; a brother Fred of Cedar Springs and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Wayland Church of Christ and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
