Gabrielle attended St. Agnes Catholic School and was in the first grade. She was very outgoing and enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing with her cousin and best friend, Akili. Her favorite TV show was "That's So Raven." Her favorite foods were chicken nuggets from Wendy's and her daddy's red beans and rice. She wanted to become a veterinarian when she grew up.
Gabrielle is survived by her loving father, Gary Steve Watkins; four brothers, Gary, Malcolm, Darius and Terrance; grandparents, Victoria Watkins Gary and Donald and Charlene Greene; cousin and best friend, Akili Greene; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held September 20, 2008 at Greater Tulane Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans. Gabrielle was laid to rest in Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum.∼Gabrielle Paige Watkins died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008. Gabrielle Watkins was 5, born in New Orleans to Gary and Marsharika on Sept. 25, 2002.
Visitation at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 211 W. Church St., Opelousas, on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 7 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Bellevue Memorial Cemetery, 4833 La. 182, Opelousas.
