PAYNE, Mrs. Mattie Baker, age 49, passed away at her home Sunday morning 5342 Willis . Survived by her husband, the Rev. O. C. Payne, Pastor of the Cole Avenue Baptist Church; one daughter, Miss Elizabeth; two sons, W. Arch and Oscar Jr. of Dallas; two sisters: Mrs. Geo H. Denning, Crockett, Texas; Mrs. Carter Anderson, Paris, five brothers; Tucker Baker of Dallas, Harry Baker of Sacramento, Cal., D. E. Baker, Washington D. C., John & A. C. both of Crockett. Cortege will leave residence 9:30 a.m. Monday. Services at the Cole Avenue Baptist Church at 10 a.m., the Rev. Jeff D. Ray, officiating. Pallbearers: D. W. Campbell, J. B. Hickman, A. C. Walker, J. Funeral services were held in Dallas at 10 o'clock Monday morning. Mrs. Payne was reared in Crockett and before her marriage to Rev. O. C. Payne was Miss Mittie Baker.
