Annie Pauline Whiteley, 87, of LaBelle and formerly of Bridge City passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2009 at Cypress Glen East Nursing Home in Port Arthur.

She was born October 9, 1921 to Addie Mae Blanton Lewis and Leon C. Lewis in Elton, Louisiana. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Arthur.

Annie was married to Clarence Whiteley of Port Acres for 43 years. She lived in Bridge City for a number of years. She was a member of LaBelle Baptist Church.

Visitation will be on Friday May 22, 2009 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 23, 2009 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Bill Fondren and Rev. Tim Smithheart, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lewis, her husband Clarence Whiteley, brother Leon "Brub" Lewis, sister Betty Brown, nieces Linda Brown and Vickie Morgan and nephew Wade Lewis.

She is survived by her sisters Helen Taylor of Nederland, Texas, Ruth Smithheart and her husband Burl of Merritt Island, Florida, her brother Robert "Pete" Lewis and his wife Jeri of LaBelle, Texas along with 42 nieces and nephews.
