Dr. Pamela R. Knutson

DENVER - Memorial services for Dr. Pamela Renee Knutson, 37, and baby Nicholas Stein, Denver, will be Saturday, March 10, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, S.D., with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating.

Pamela died as the result of complications during her pregnancy with baby Nicholas. Private family interment will be held at a later date at the Steinman Ranch.

Dr. Knutson was born Aug. 2, 1963, at Rapid City to Gay and Julee (Bauer) Claymore. She grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Central High School in 1981.

She married Andrew S. Knutson in Rapid City on Aug. 4, 1984. To this union, two sons were born. The couple moved to Colorado in 1994, and Pamela attended the University of Colorado, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1999. She obtained her Doctorate in Pharmacy in May of 2000. She worked as a pharmacist at various Walgreens stores in Denver.

She was a member of Rapid City Central High School cheerleaders for three years while in high school and was a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado.

Survivors include her father, Gay, and his wife, Vicky Claymore, Henderson, Nev.; her mother and stepfather, Julee and Lyle Steinman, Piedmont, S.D.; two sons, Sean Matthew and Samuel Alexander Knutson, Lakewood; one sister, Debi and her husband, Brent Sandstrom, Black Hawk, S.D.; ex-husband, Andrew S. Knutson, Lakewood; maternal grandparents, Harold and June Bauer, Rapid City; her partner and companion, Brent Stein, Parker, Colo.; uncles Kent and his wife, Colleen Bauer, Linn and his wife, Beth Bauer, Elra and his wife, Barb Claymore, Teddy and his wife, Dawn Claymore; five aunts, Bev and her husband, Gunner Earley, Betty and her husband, Hilton Haralson, Patsy and her husband, Forrest Futtere, Dolly Symonds, Peggy and her husband, Dan Bourdo; also numerous cousins and three nieces and two nephews and her children's paternal grandparents, Robert and Annie Knutson, Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Bessie Bauer; her paternal
grandparents, John and Berniece Claymore; and one cousin, Brian Arends.

A memorial has been established to her children. Contributions may be sent through the Rapid City
Central Alumni Association at Highmark Federal Credit Union, 725 Fifth Street, Rapid City, S.D., 57701.
