Obituary of Luther S. Ely, retired Brooklyn merchant and postmaster in that town for the past 35 years, died Tuesday at his home. Surviving are his wife; six daughters: Mrs. (Edna L.) Thomas Otto, Harrisburg; Mrs. Earl L. Payne, Uniondale; Mrs. W. C. Adams, Chesaning, Michigan, Mrs. E. H. Cross, Monroe, Michigan, Mrs. (Helen Louise) C. M. Bedell, Franklin, PA, Mrs. Leal Hunter, Birch Run, Michigan; two sons, Frank of Uniondale and Luther S., Jr. with the U.S. Navy, two brothers, Everett F. Ely and Edgar C. Ely. Interment, Brooklyn Cemetery.
