Rosanne Marie Gengler was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Jamestown, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Peters) Gengler. She grew up on the family farm in Fried and attended Buchanan (N.D.) High School. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1966. She attended Jamestown College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1970.
Rosanne moved to Texas where she taught at Texas Women's University. She later earned a master's degree in orthopedic nursing, specializing in spinal cord injuries through the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Houston, where she also worked for eight years. She then worked for Methodist Hospital and later MD Anderson Cancer Center, both Houston. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Houston, National Association of Orthopedic Nurses and many nursing committees, and active on the Texas Board of Nursing and with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fried.
Rosanne is survived by a daughter, Heather (Brian) Stein, Houston; two brothers, Robert (Sharon), Jamestown, and Alan (Brenda), Big Stone City, S.D.; a sister, Joanne (Don) Lorenz, Jamestown; and a grandson.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sacred Heart Church at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Friday, Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried.
