Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, 7 Jul, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with George Richardson officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery at Taylortown.
Mr. Abbott was born 14 Mar 1928, in Taylortown, a son of W.J. and Ida Mae Goforth Abbott. He married Martha Swanson, on 30 Jul 1948, in Lake Creek.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Kay Sanders and Sherry Grubbs, both of Garland; two grandchildren, Jayme Sanders and Christina Grubbs; three brothers, Melvin Abbott of Paris, G. E. (Bill) Abbott of Paris, and F. E. (Shorty) Abbott of Fort Worth, and four sisters, Jesse Lee Allen of Deport, Kathleen Malone of Taylortown, Donna Aacher of Paris, and Flossie (Sissy) Hood of Houston.
