MINEOLA - Graveside services for James Wesley "Jim" Abbott, 60, Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery, Taylortown near Paris, with Brother Perry Sims officiating, under direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors, Lindale.
Mr. Abbott died Dec. 9 at his residence. He was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Lamar County to the late Arnold and Idell Abbott, and lived most of his life in the Lindale and Mineola area. He graduated from Paris High School in 1956 and was a grocery store manager.
He was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Abbott, and sister, Syble Puffer.
Survivors include brothers, Billy Abbott, Lindale, Donald Abbott, Tyler, and Gary Abbott, Quitman; sisters, Betty Janvier, Mineola, Ruth Brazeal, Allen, and Mary Ausmus, Paris; and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
