John Dlllard Akers, 81, died at his home in Dublin Saturday morning. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Oscar Cawley and Mrs. Curtis Davis, Pearisburg; Mrs. Bertha Hancock, Marion; Mrs. Erby Turpin and Miss Kate Akers, Dublin. Also, four sons, Archie, Orville and Mack Akers of Dublin and James Akers of Radford; one sister, Mrs. A.L. Jones, Roanoke; one brother, Mack Akers, Roanoke; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Stickler's Funeral Chapel, Dublin, with the Rev. Manson B. Tate officiating. Burial will be in the Newbern Cemetery. The body will remain at Stricklers Funeral Home, Dublin, until the hour of service.
