The remains of Mrs. Mary Curtis, aged 73 years, who died at North Yakima, Wash., arrived at Osakis yesterday and will be laid to rest by the side of her husband in Rinehart cemetery. The funeral will be held from the M. E. church today, Rev. J. Underwood to officiate, says the Osakis Review. During the time A. W. Curtis was county superintendent of schools of Douglas county, Mrs. Curtis lived here with her son. She was well known and highly respected.
Mrs. Mary Curtis was born March 19, 1834, and removed to Douglas county from Indiana thirty-eight years ago, where she resided continuously until four years ago when she removed to North Yakima, Wash., to make her home with her son, A. W. Curtis, former superintendent of schools of Douglas county. Her husband died here a quarter of a century ago. Deceased leaves eight children to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted mother. Four of them were present at her death bed, viz: A. W. Curtis, Loren Curtis, Mrs. Janette Northy, all of North Yakima, and Mrs. Eunice Baker of Chesaw, Wash. The other children are J. L. Curtis of Osakis, Mrs. Maria Robinson of Sauk Centre, Mrs. J. W. Bickford of Staples and Mrs. C. R. McKay of Alberta, Canada.
