Twentynine Palms, Calif. - Services were held Thursday for Gladys Marie Russell, 71, of Twentynine Palms, Calif., a former East Liverpool resident, who died Monday after an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Russell was born in Marietta, Ohio, Oct. 21, 1908, a daughter of the late Jennie and Ernest Carpenter. She lived in the East End and was employed by the Homer Laughlin China Co. until 1947. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Russell, a former Newell resident; a son, Charles Osbourne Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Hyatt of Twentynine Palms, Mrs. Glenn (Mabel) Crumbley of Westminster, Calif., and Mrs. Arnold (Phyllis) McDowell of East Liverpool, and three brothers, Raymond Carpenter of Baldwin Paek, Calif., Lloyd Carpenter of Westminster, Calif., and Paul Carpenter of Twentynine Palms. Mrs. Russell was buried in the Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.
