Deport - G. E. (Bill) Abbott, 75, of the Viewpoint community, Rt. 4, Paris, died Friday, Mar. 31, 1994, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Deport with the Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Rockford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Abbott was born July 16, 1918, in the Clardy community, a son of Jessie and Ida Goforth Abbott. He married Tina Hatch Aug. 8, 1936, in Lamar County. He was a retired truck driver.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Charles Potter of Camille, Norma and Glenn Dixon of Sumner; one son, Stanley Abbott of Paris; eight grandsons and one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, F.E. (Shorty) Abbott and Melvin Abbott, both of Paris; three sisters, Kathlene Malone and Donna Archer, both of Paris, and Flossie Hood of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
